South Polar Cap from June to January

Description

With the arrival of spring on Mars' southern hemisphere, the south polar cap began to shrink as it emerged from darkness. When I took my first photo of Mars for this apparition in June, the SPC was large. By January, nearly all the seasonal dry ice sublimated back into the atmosphere and left little more than the permanent cap made of water ice.
